Coastal and Marine Engineering with Application
After participating in this course, you will be able to:
- Calculate wave forces on vertical walls and predict wave properties.
- Understanding shore protection strategy and recognizing water process and its effect on the shore zone.
- Design main marine structures geometrically and structurally.
- Assisting field cases in the light of structure wave and current interaction.
Description
Coastal engineering deals with the stability of coastal zone and structures within this zone. This course covers the water processes and its effect on civil structure stability in the coastal zone. The climate change phenomena added more difficulty when studying and designing shore protection and marine structures.
This course focuses on problem-solving, field cases, and the design procedure of stable structures to protect near-shore properties.
Course Outline
- Waves, Current, Tidal range, and water level.
- The strategy of shore protection and marine structures.
- Structural design of Breakwaters.
- Methods of supporting community and houses near the lakes.
- Field case and real problem-solving.
Who Should Attend
Civil engineers and architects • Real estate representatives • Contractors and consulting engineers • Coastal and marine authorities.
