New Saskatchewan Construction Codes Act
After participating in this course, you will be able to:
- think about disability in a holistic and nuanced fashion
- design and construct projects that comply with the Construction Codes Act and effectively accommodate persons with disabilities
- obtain permits quickly and efficiently
Description
In January 2022, Saskatchewan’s new Construction Codes Act became law. Most significantly, this legislation integrates the requirements of the Uniform Building and Accessibility Standards Act with the most recent Construction Codes Act. These changes allow the Saskatchewan government to develop construction standards and building accessibility regulations to make access and use of new facilities easier and better for persons with disabilities, and, incidentally, all residents of Saskatchewan.
The webinar will review these changes in detail, as well as other modernizations that reduce the red tape surrounding construction permitting and make timely adoption of new construction standards simpler and easier to implement.
