Koorosh Asghari

Koorosh is an accomplished university teacher and researcher with over 22 years of combined experience developing and delivering projects and courses in academia and industry settings.

An Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Regina, Canada (2000-2009), with experience in teaching various courses and developing leading-edge research programs collaboratively and collegially. He prepared and delivered courses on Engineering Management, Engineering Economy, Reservoir Engineering, Enhanced Oil Recovery, PVT of Hydrocarbon Fluids, Simulation, and Well Testing.

A Senior Manager of Reservoir Engineering with 10 years (2009-2019) of experience leading teams of highly educated and motivated engineers at Husky Energy, Canada. Developed and supervised evaluation and application of multiple new technologies, including reservoir simulation and modelling for utilization of CO2 for EOR and storage purposes, innovative chemicals for near wellbore stimulation, application of inflow control devices (ICD), Big Data and Analytics, and energy efficiency of thermal operations, to name a few. Adjunct Professor with the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary (2020 – present), co-supervising several groups of students.

He is the Director and Principal Engineer of KA Energy Consulting Service Inc. (2019 – present), providing a wide range of consulting services and training in the sustainable development of oil and gas resources to Canadian and international energy companies.
