Albert Einstein has been quoted as saying that intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death. Doubtless one of the areas where that is most likely true is in the field of engineering, where constant change requires almost constant education

Engineers and technical professionals of all kinds can continue to grow their knowledge through the Educational Program Innovations Center (EPIC), a leading technical training solution provider of engineering and technology programs. EPIC delivers short courses and seminars on specialized topics in an all-inclusive range of technologies both online and on-site.

Every year, EPIC's team of academic and practicing engineers with industrial experience develop over 300 courses. Specialists from industry and academia share their knowledge and experience to give engineers and others a head start in facing the challenges of today's global market.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, EPIC has trained more than 70,000 people from government, industry, consulting and research organizations across North America. Many courses are offered online to organizations or individuals, while customized programs can be delivered on-site to companies, such as those recently offered to a Saskatchewan potash operation.

From its head office in Mississauga, Ont., EPIC focuses mainly on providing training options to Canada and, increasingly, to engineers in Saskatchewan. "We're focusing on the prairies," says Chugh. "There's been signifi cant growth in the number of courses we've offered in Saskatchewan in the past two to three years."

Chugh said EPIC wants to be in the forefront of training here. "There's lots of potential there. We are really looking forward to expanding into Saskatchewan."

EPIC is a federally incorporated private company and is certified as an educational institution by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. It has also been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training, a non-profit association devoted to promoting and enhancing quality in continuing education and training through research, education and the development and continuous improvement of criteria, principles and standards of practice. In obtaining this approval, EPIC has demonstrated that it complies with widely recognized international standards of good practice, so credits obtained through EPIC are recognized internationally.
