EPIC signs agreement to build an endowment fund of $250,000 at University of Waterloo

On April 19, 2010, Professor Hira Ahuja, President signed an agreement to build an endowment fund of $ 250,000 over a five year period at the University of Waterloo.  The U of W will use the income from this fund combined with the contribution by the university faculty to award $ 25,000 annually to an engineering graduate of Thapar University, Patiala, Punjab, India to pursue graduate studies and research in engineering at the University of Waterloo .

This endowment fund is in addition to the already existing endowment fund of $ 180,000 at the University of Waterloo for scholarships to engineering undergraduate students. In addition, Professor Ahuja has established  scholarships at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Dalhousie University and University of Toronto for undergraduate students in engineering.
