The difference between Online Courses and Webinars

There can be confusion between online courses and webinars. While they are similar in some respects, they also differ in several other areas.
Webinars
- Webinars are usually short online sessions, with a scheduled date and time
- Insightful information is taught to the students during these sessions and not much independent study is necessary
- These courses are a very efficient method to quickly learn a particular topic and require less of a time commitment than traditional online courses

Online Courses
- Online courses are generally held over several weeks and require a good amount of independent study from the student
