Overview
This course is held online over 2 days on the following schedule (All times in Eastern Time Zone):
9:30 am to 5:30 pm Eastern (Will include the usual breaks)
After participating in this course, you will be able to:
- Understand soil and rock mechanics fundamentals and their application to slope stability engineering.
- Define various methods of slope stabilization and identify appropriate applications.
- Conduct simple stability analyses of slopes.
- Familiar with analysis methods and typical design practices.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of principles of investigation and stabilization of slope failures.
Description
The objective of this course is to provide practitioners involved in slope stability design and construction with fundamentals and approaches for slope stability design.
Course materials include stability concepts, engineering geology principles, groundwater principles, soil testing and interpretations, slope stability concepts, stabilization methods, instrumentation and monitoring, and construction inspection.

Instructor
Mehrdad has over 10 years of experience on Geotechnical, Civil and Mining engineering projects combined with academic and research experience.
He is currently research associate and sessional lecturer at McGill University in the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering and has a sound knowledge of soil, rock and concrete testing.
