After participating in this course, you will be able to:

  • Perform comprehensive energy audits in commercial and institutional facilities following ASHRAE standards.
  • Identify and evaluate energy conservation opportunities to reduce energy use and costs.
  • Understand the methodology and processes involved in conducting a site audit and analyzing energy use in buildings.
  • Develop and implement effective energy conservation measures tailored to specific facilities.
  • Prepare detailed energy audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and potential savings.

Description
Energy is an increasingly expensive commodity both in direct costs and its impact on society as a whole in terms of greenhouse gases and decreasing resources. Energy conservation has been identified by all levels of government as a priority issue for all energy users. However, to plan for energy conservation, one must know how much is being used and where the conservation opportunities may lie. A facility energy audit is a first step along the road to reducing energy use. This seminar will provide the information for you to perform energy audits in commercial and institutional facilities. It will focus on processes and deliverables following the ASHRAE Standard for Commercial Building Energy Audits, along with providing an understanding of typical energy savings measures.

This course provides a high-level review of the energy auditing process. It leaves participants with a better understanding of audit methodology and practical tools to plan and execute energy audits at their own facility.

Who Should Attend

  • Plant and facility operating engineers and energy managers.

The course will focus on the basics of energy audits. Understanding building systems will be helpful in understanding potential energy conservation measures.
