Description
Building automation systems (BAS) significantly influence energy consumption, indoor air quality, and maintenance efficiency. However, many systems are underutilized, unrealizing their potential to improve building performance. By understanding BAS fundamentals, including control systems and communication protocols, you can unlock these systems' capabilities to enhance efficiency and sustainability. This course provides foundational knowledge of control system basics and the integration of hardware, software, and communication standards like BACnet to ensure seamless BAS operation.

Equipped with insights into energy codes and standards such as ASHRAE and LEED, participants will explore energy-saving strategies for various building systems. Instructor

Peter Daldoss, P.E., CEM

Peter is a building energy specialist with 30+ years of experience implementing comprehensive energy conservation projects. He has been involved in designing and installing over 100 significant building automation projects.

Peter has developed a practical understanding of the application of energy efficiency measures, including their economics, benefits and limitations. Along with installing BAS systems, Peter has developed and installed other energy conservation measures, including lighting retrofits, water conservation, central heating/cooling plants, HVAC systems, heat recovery systems, solar PV and water heating systems, cogeneration, power factor correction and building envelope retrofits.
