After participating in this course, you will be able to:

  • Enhance your understanding of interpersonal relationships and improve interactions in conflict scenarios.
  • Leverage four fundamental leadership styles to elevate your effectiveness as a leader in challenging situations.
  • Implement cutting-edge leadership research to refine your leadership approach and impact.
  • Sharpen communication skills to better connect with your staff and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Build strategies to foster a collaborative environment that turns conflict into productive outcomes.

Description
Workplace conflict is inevitable, but how you respond can define your success as a leader and team member. Engaging with productive conflict allows you to better understand your reactions, communicate effectively, and navigate difficult situations more easily. Participants in this course will gain deep insights into their conflict behaviours and learn how to transform these behaviours to lead to more positive interactions and outcomes.

The course draws upon the DiSC® model and cognitive behavioural theory, offering personalized assessments and strategies to help you recognize destructive patterns and adopt more effective conflict responses. Through this process, you'll learn how to prevent conflicts before they escalate, understand their origins, and navigate them with skill and confidence, strengthening and improving your workplace relationships.

This course also focuses on conflict prevention techniques and equips participants with practical tools to handle demanding clients, multigenerational challenges, and emotionally charged situations. By understanding how to turn conflict into a driver for productivity, you'll be able to align your team toward common goals and foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.

Who Should Attend
This course is ideal for engineering team leaders, project managers, supervisors, and consultants looking to enhance their leadership skills in high-pressure environments. Aspiring leaders who want to improve their interpersonal communication and conflict-resolution strategies will also benefit. Professionals managing multigenerational teams or complex client relationships will also find this training particularly valuable.

Special Features & Requirements

This course utilizes the Productive Conflict DiSC Tool, which includes personalized individual profiles for each participant. These profiles, available for review before the course, will enhance your self-awareness and provide valuable insights into your conflict behaviours. Reflecting on these insights throughout the course will help you improve your leadership and soft skills.

For optimal engagement, each participant must have a laptop or computer with an active webcam for the duration of the course. Since body language and visual cues account for over 50% of communication, this ensures maximum participation and creates a more effective learning experience.

Please note that registration must be completed in advance to allow instructors sufficient time to review your profile. Same-day registration is not permitted due to the essential nature of the profile report.
