Description:

The layout of a production facility determines a company’s profitability and competitiveness. The plant layout also has a direct influence on current operations, and impacts quality, time and cost.

Often, plant layout decisions are made without knowing all of the relevant information and possible issues. In terms of delivery, a non-optimum layout increases time wastes due to the distances employees or materials need to travel. In regards to production capacity, an inadequate plant layout could create bottlenecks or reduce the pace of work under the production standards, and the company may end up with delivery delays.

This webinar presents the plant layout process and five essentials tips to make it a success.

Yves Martin, ing., MBA

Spécialiste en gestion des opérations et du « LEAN Manufacturing », monsieur Martin soutient les entreprises dans l'amélioration de leur productivité et de leur compétitivité.

En 2001, il a fondé la firme Expert-conseil PME. Depuis, il a servi 79 entreprises et a réalisé plus de 150 mandats. Membre de l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, il fut accrédité comme chargé de projet dans le cadre de la Mesure d'Appui à la Productivité (MAP) du MDEIE en 2008. Depuis 2003, monsieur Martin développe une approche innovatrice qui fait en sorte que la gestion du personnel est au cœur du déploiement et de l'utilisation des meilleures pratiques (LEAN, 5S, informatisation telle qu'ERP et CAD-CAM, automatisation et maintenance).

De plus, monsieur Martin a développé des outils informatiques spécialisés (amélioration continue, Kanban et 5S) vous permettant d’atteindre rapidement et à moindres coûts vos objectifs d'affaires. Yves Martin est diplômé en 1983 en génie de l'École Polytechnique de Montréal et obtient un MBA de l'Université McGill en 1993. Avant d'être consultant, monsieur Martin a été tour à tour responsable de qualité, directeur de production et du personnel, et directeur d'usine.
