As a professional responsible for planning, maintaining, or investing in transportation infrastructure, you are often required to make long‑term decisions with incomplete data, constrained budgets, and increasing performance expectations. While the course materials are structured, there is ample opportunity to explore any aspects of pavement design, evaluation and management of interest to the participants. The instructor effectively uses discussion, case studies and real-world examples to highlight key aspects and interests of the group.
This course includes a “homework” assignment that includes the identification of common types, extends, and severity of pavement surface distresses from a series of photographs. The assignment will be marked and reviewed as a group at the start of the second day of the lecture.
