Technical & Confirmatory Exam Preparation Courses

Are you an internationally educated engineer working toward your Professional Engineering License in Canada? EPIC provides the structured support you need to prepare with confidence and progress in your licensing journey.

For over 20 years, EPIC has helped engineers across Canada prepare for Technical and Confirmatory Exams assigned by provincial engineering regulators, including the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). Our courses are designed to align with exam requirements, so you can focus your efforts on what matters most.

Through the National Technical Exam Preparation Program, you will build the knowledge and problem-solving skills required to successfully approach your assigned exams. Courses are led by experienced instructors and structured to help you deepen your technical understanding, not just memorize content.

By the end of your preparation, you will be better equipped to:

  • Apply core engineering principles to solve exam problems with confidence
  • Approach technical questions using structured, first-principles thinking
  • Strengthen your understanding of key subject areas required for your exams
  • Demonstrate competency in line with Canadian engineering standards

Many internationally educated engineers face barriers to career progression due to licensing requirements. EPIC's exam preparation courses are designed to help you move forward, equipping you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to achieve your P.Eng. and advance your career in Canada.

I have successfully completed PEO academic requirements by passing four engineering papers and PPE. I have attended EPIC classes and that helped me tremendously in fulfilling PEO academic requirements. I appreciate EPIC for their contribution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the classes be recorded?
Instructors may choose to record classes and share them with students to enhance learning. Recording of classes by participants is not allowed.
How many hours do I need to study?
About 10 hours per week per course is expected. Active student participation is required during and outside class time — simply attending classes is not sufficient. The instructor's role is to facilitate and guide students to understand material so they become better engineers, not just to prepare them to pass exams.
Will I get solutions to old exam problems?
The focus is on teaching the fundamentals of engineering and making sure those foundations are understood. We teach students to think from first principles so they can apply their knowledge to any exam question. Previous exam questions are used as supporting material, but the goal is to react and adapt to ever-changing exam questions and formats.
Can I email my instructor with questions?
Instructors may, at their discretion, respond to email questions related to a student's learning. We ask that the number of email questions be limited, since the shared learning experience is intended for the entire class.
