This course is held online over 2 days on the following schedule (All times in Eastern Time Zone): 10 am to 1:45 pm ( 3.5 hours of instruction per day plus a 15-minute break) This is an interactive course where you work with the code, as well as the instructor, using real examples. Students are required to purchase and bring their copy of the latest edition of the National Building Code to the course. They should also be prepared to answer questions based on the NBC and participate in discussions.

Description
Understanding and applying the National Building Code is vital for anyone involved in designing and constructing large buildings. This course delves into the specific requirements of Part 3, which addresses large buildings such as assembly, high-hazard, care, and detention occupancies. You'll gain an in-depth understanding of the rules governing building safety, fire protection, and accessibility standards and how they apply to structures over three stories or 600 m².

Throughout this interactive course, you'll work directly with the code and engage in hands-on activities that bring theoretical concepts to life. The course also covers combustible construction, building size and construction relative to occupancy, and additional requirements for high buildings, providing a comprehensive overview of the code's application.
