OVERVIEW

Please note, This instructor-led course has specific dates and times:

This course is held online over 4 days on the following schedule (All times in Eastern Time Zone): 10 am to 6 pm Eastern (Will include the usual breaks) Please note that it is a requirement for all attendees to sign a "Confidentiality Agreement" prior to receiving the course notes for this online offering. Special Features & Requirements Course participants are expected to have some elementary knowledge of structural design and the analysis of simple structures. In order to gain the maximum benefit from this seminar, participants are encouraged to read the following texts in advance: •Part 4 of the National Building Code of Canada Participants should have a hand-held, battery-operated calculator for the exercises at the end of each day.

After participating in this course, you will be able to:

  • Apply structural analysis methods to beams, trusses, slabs, columns, walls, frames, footings, and pile foundations.
  • Assess the design of reinforced concrete and structural steel members for enhanced durability and safety.
  • Solve common structural engineering problems with practical, hands-on techniques.
  • Employ wood and masonry design procedures to create resilient and aesthetically pleasing structures.
  • Blend architectural design with structural engineering principles to achieve projects that are both beautiful and structurally sound.

Description
In the dynamic world of building and design, the bridge between aesthetics and durability is often underpinned by the invisible hands of structural engineering. For non-structural engineers and architects, having more than just a fleeting grasp of these principles can be the difference between good and great projects. Yet, the intricate maze of mathematical formulas and technical jargon often acts as a barrier.

We've stripped away the intimidating equations, focusing on the raw essence of structural design. Dive deep into the world of concrete, steel, wood, and masonry building structures, delivered through digestible modules that don't sacrifice depth for simplicity. Following our engaging lectures, step into interactive sessions brimming with hands-on exercises and intuitive problem-solving tasks. By the end, you'll be looking at your projects with a renewed perspective, confidently blending form with function and beauty with resilience.

Embark on this transformative journey today and reshape the foundations of your architectural prowess!
