Course Description
Successful responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) depend on sound decisions throughout the entire pursuit and proposal process. From identifying the right opportunities and determining whether to compete to interpreting requirements, developing a persuasive response, and reviewing the outcome, each stage can influence the likelihood of success. This practical course provides a structured approach for managing that process while improving proposal quality, consistency, compliance, and efficiency.
You will learn how to evaluate opportunities, turn complex solicitation documents into clear proposal requirements, strengthen your understanding of buyers and competitors, and develop focused win themes that connect your organization’s capabilities to what matters most to the client. The course will help you build a more disciplined and repeatable approach to planning, developing, reviewing, and submitting proposals across public- and private-sector competitions.
The course also examines how AI can support established proposal practices, including research, information comparison, document summarization, requirements identification, knowledge organization, outlining and drafting, visual development, quality checks, coordination, and lessons learned. You will explore different types of AI tools, their limitations, security considerations, effective instructions, and approaches for responsible organizational adoption. Emphasis is placed on maintaining human accountability for strategic decisions, client and stakeholder relationships, proposal strategy, technical accuracy, staffing, pricing, legal and risk reviews, and final approval. Access to an AI platform is not required to participate in the course.
