Overview

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Recognize the major types of advanced and modern water treatment technologies and their practical applications, including membrane filtration, adsorption, ion exchange, ozonation, UV irradiation, and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs).
  • Understand the fundamental mechanisms of contaminant removal achieved by advanced treatment technologies, including physical separation, chemical oxidation, and physicochemical interactions.
  • Identify the technologies used in full-cycle water remediation systems that transform wastewater into high-quality purified water suitable for reuse.
  • Describe the key technologies applied in seawater desalination for the production of potable and high-quality process water.
  • Apply knowledge of advanced treatment technologies to the design of modern water purification systems for industrial, pharmaceutical, and other high-purity water applications.

Description

This webinar explores advanced treatment technologies used in modern water treatment systems. Designed to meet increasing demands for higher efficiency, compact system design, and reduced generation of hazardous wastes, these technologies offer highly effective removal of a wide range of contaminants — including emerging micropollutants.

Participants will gain insight into key advanced treatment processes such as, membrane filtration technologies (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis), adsorption processes, ion exchange, ozonation, UV irradiation, and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), including ozone-based AOPs, UV-based AOPs, Fenton process and photocatalytic oxidation.

The webinar explains the fundamental mechanisms of contaminant removal behind each technology and discusses important design considerations for integrating these processes into efficient treatment systems. Special emphasis is placed on real-world applications, including full-cycle water remediation systems that produce purified water from wastewater, as well as seawater desalination processes for the production of high-quality water suitable for drinking and other uses.

By the end of the webinar, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of how advanced water treatment technologies are applied in modern treatment plants to remove diverse contaminants and produce safe, high-quality water.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for:

Professionals involved in the operation, management, and oversight of water treatment systems in both industrial and municipal settings. It is particularly beneficial for engineers, operators, and technicians responsible for operating, controlling, managing, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment systems.

It is also ideal for environmental engineers and industrial personnel working in water treatment applications, and consulting engineers and chemists specializing in water quality and treatment technologies.  Additionally, municipal planners, regulators, and supervisors overseeing water treatment facilities will benefit from the insights provided.

Anyone seeking to expand their knowledge of advanced water treatment technologies and their practical applications in modern treatment plants will find this webinar valuable.
